The fourth annual Carroll Shelby Tribute and Car Show, scheduled for May 21 in Gardena, California, celebrates 50 years of Shelby Performance with the anniversaries of the Ford GT, Shelby GT350 and Shelby Hertz cars.

“The Shelby Hertz cars, Ford GT and Shelby GT350 earned legendary reputations globally,” Joe Conway, co-chief executive of Carroll Shelby International, CEO of Shelby American and co-trustee of the Carroll Hall Shelby Trust, said in a news release.

“Our salute to these vehicles will celebrate Shelby’s deep involvement and impact on Ford history. Shelby changed the way American automotive performance was viewed by the world, which is why our cars are still so desirable today.”

The show opens at 9:00 a.m. and there is no admission charge. However, to register a car for display at the show, a $40 donation can be made online to benefit the Carroll Shelby Foundation, which provides medical assistance for those in need as well as educational opportunities and training for young people through automotive programs.

Show highlights include a display of the latest Shelby performance vehicles, such as the Shelby Terlingua and Super Snake.

A “rev your engine” salute will be made at 1:00 p.m.

Attendees also can sample a Terlingua-inspired chili bar and Shelby craft beer.
