Carlisle Events concluded its 2014 car show, swap meet and classic car auction schedule last weekend with its fifth Fall AutoFest at Festival Park in Zephyrhills, Florida. Carlisle also announced that after launching its 2015 season in February at Zephyrhills, it will move its Florida events to Lakeland, starting next November.
Carlisle is based in Pennsylvania but escapes the cold twice a year for events in Florida, where it returns February 19-22 for the Winter AutoFest at Zephyrhills, just north of Tampa.
But when it goes back next fall, the slightly renamed Fall Florida AutoFest will experience a change of venue, moving to a more central location at the Sun n’ Fun Complex in Lakeland, which is located between Tampa and Orlando.
Carlisle said the move was being made because the Lakeland facility provides more space and is close not only to Tampa but also to more of the central part of the state.
At the 2014 Fall AutoFest, the top sellers among the 300 cars that crossed the block at the Carlisle Auction each brought $73,991. They were a 1966 Chevrolet Corvette and a 1957 Ford Thunderbird.
