The 1933 Napier-Railton Special that broke 42 speed records in its heyday will represent classic cars at the 2017 London Motor Show, scheduled for May 4-7 at Battersea Evolution in England’s capital city.
Like most auto snows, the London event will feature around 130 new cars from a variety of automakers. But it also will showcase the car that in 1935 recorded a lap at 143.44 miles per hour around the Brooklands Outer Circuit.
That may have been only a warmup as the car also set a record by averaging 150.6 mph over the course of 24 hours on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 1936.
Now owned by the Brooklands Museum, the Napier-Railton is powered by a 24-liter aero-engine.
